Dear Ms. Smith:
As a junior animal science major, I am very interested in working with exotic animals in the future. In searching the CAFNR Connections database, I was very excited to learn that you graduated from MU with an animal science degree and now work at a zoo. Would you be willing to answer a few questions about your career? I know you would be able to offer some valuable advice in terms of how I should prepare.
I have already applied for an internship in animal nutrition at the Columbia Zoo and am always searching for more opportunities. I know that working with exotics is a competitive field and want to do everything I can to be a highly marketable candidate upon graduation.
I would be willing to visit with you by phone or in person, if you feel it would be more convenient. I look forward to your reply and thank you for your willingness to help through the Connections program.
Sincerely,
Truman Tiger
